ALBERT WADDINGTON

A. Waddington was sworn into office on January 1,1937 as Westville's fifth Mayor. He remained in office through 1938. The following people served as Councilmen during his tenure as Mayor; Harry Quenzel, William T. McKinney, Joseph Balley, Daniel Patterson, Charles Hinshillwood, and Charles Lacy. Mr. Quenzel served as Council President during Mayor Waddington's term. The following people were employed by the Borough of Westville during this time period:

J.C. Remington - Engineer 1938

The fire alarm system was overhauled in 1937 and the Republican Club donated a wooden flag pole which was erected in front of the Borough Hall. In 1938 a new diner was built at the corner of Broadway and River Drive, and the Broadway Bridge was changed to a 'fixed' bridge. Traffic lights were needed at Olive and Broadway, Broadway and Pine, and Delsea and Center.
